The Reconstruct Initiative was glad to welcome Steve Hessler and Ilka Cassidy of Holzraum System for a multi-day Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) workshop. Anchored by a Study Day with industry stakeholders, the team dove into the DfMA process from schematic design to detailing and drafting construction documents. This included learning strategies for project management and using CAD/CAM software for prefabrication. Altogether this workshop laid the groundwork for the development of a DfMA curriculum and kickstarted its integration into the pilot project development.
