This year, we had three SURE (Summer Undergraduate Research in Engineering) students from McGill's School of Architecture working on Deep Energy Retrofits (DERs). Together, their projects encompassed the wide scope of the Reconstruct Initiative's research activities from the societal to building scale. Aidan investigated and illustrated the components of a streamlined DER solution provider network, Gabriel codified DER pilot project selection criteria and Antoine detailed architectural options for overcladding multi unit residential buildings with prefabricated panels. At the university-wide expo at the summer's end, Aidan (top) and Antoine's (bottom) projects received awards.
