Study Day: Reconstruct and Panelized Deep Energy Retrofits

Study Day: Reconstruct and Panelized Deep Energy Retrofits
The Reconstruct Initiative is a multidisciplinary research group working to build industry capacity and structure an approach to scale up prefabricated panelized Deep Energy Retrofits (DERs) in Quebec and Canada. It is led by the Chair in Architecture, Energy and the Environment at McGill University and brings together research and design laboratories from McGill, UQÀM, Carleton and the University of Toronto.
We invite you to attend a half-day study session at McGill on June 16th, 2025, to learn about Reconstruct’s work and hear from stakeholders in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry who are interested in DERs. This event is intended to give potential collaborators an opportunity to meet and discuss panelized DER prior to the call for tender for future pilot projects. It will also include a presentation by Holzraum System, who specialize in low carbon off-site construction, detailing the tools and processes that form the basis of their DfMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) process for panelized construction and renovation. A free lunch will be provided. To permit us to plan accordingly we ask you to register in advance. As such, please complete this form before June 2nd, 2025, to confirm your attendance.
A zoom link will be provided for those who would like to attend virtually following sign up.
