Integrated DfMA for Architects Course
The FARMM Lab is partnered with Holzraum System to explore how to integrate Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) into architectural teaching and practice. DfMA moves architectural production off-site to factories with higher quality control, less material waste and faster production speeds.
Steve Hessler is delivering a course to help AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) professionals understand DfMA's potential and strategies for implementing it within their practices. The sessions are being offered as Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Passive House Institute of the United States (PHIUS).
The course schedule is as follows:
August 26th, 12pm-1pm EST: From BIM to Low Carbon Manufacturing: Why Architects Must Think in Parts
September 2nd, 12pm-1pm EST: The IDfMA Roadmap: From Concept Design to GR3 Fabrication Review
September 9th, 12pm-1pm EST: Low-Carbon Outcomes: Vapor-Open Systems, Carbon Accounting & Circular Design Through IDfMA
